HCL News - Updated COVID-19 Resources & Tools

The following are additional resources that might be advantageous for your agency:

  • Infection control focused audits directed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are becoming more frequent for providers. The CMS Prioritization of Survey Activity (QSO-20-20-All) will be used for random surveys of agencies to ensure compliance with infection control procedures expected during the pandemic. Agencies might want to consider using the infection control checklist as a guide for ensuring processes are up to date and effective under the pandemic.
  • The Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) recently published a Spanish version of the COVID-19 Guidance for Public Home Health Service Providers (SPANISH), in addition to the previously published English version of the COVID-19 Guidance for Public Home Health Service Providers (ENGLISH).
  • The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has made updates to the COVID-19 FAQs for HCSSA Providers. Please note best practices include printing all guidance as it is made available, and organizing it into a binder or file as part of an agency’s emergency preparedness and for compliance timelines.
  • Although all reporting requirements to the local or state public health entities still apply, agencies are not required to report “presumptive positive” or “positive” cases to the HHSC Regulatory Complaints Division as a self-reported critical incident. More details can be found in the Member Only Resources section on the TAHCH COVID-19 website, at “New! 4/15 COVID-19 State Flexibility Update Webinar & Handouts”.
